In this story:

Utah has already seen a handful of veterans announce their intentions to declare for the NFL Draft in Cole Bishop and Sione Vaki, and Tuesday it was pass rusher Jonah Elliss.

The son of Utah legend and defensive tackles coach, Luther Elliss, had a career year in 2024 recording a career-high 37 total tackles, three pass deflections, and 12 sacks. The Junior out of Idaho took to Instagram to announce his decision to do so on Tuesday.

Elliss departs Utah as a two-time Pac-12 champ, a first-team and second-team All-American, and a semifinalist for the 2023 Bednarik Award.

A possible future replacement for Jonah is his younger brother Elijah, who flipped from Idaho and is a three-star recruit in Utah's 2024 class.  As for the NFL, Jonah will be the third member of his family to play in the NFL as his dad played in the league for 10 years, while his older brother Kaden is on the Falcons.

It's a tough loss for the Utes who would have loved to have one of the nation's best pass-rushers back in 2024, but a move that makes complete sense in terms of his possible draft stock.
