Brett Yormark says Big 12 expansion is 'done' at 16 teams

After the being the aggressors for majority of realignment the Big 12 is done

Big 12 expansion has been a constant possibility this entire past year, but for the first time since Texas and Oklahoma have left the conference they are backing off.

The news comes after Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark spoke with reporters from the three new Pac-12 programs that recently joined the conference, as he expressed the conference is "done" expanding.

All four of the Pac-12 schools which include Arizona State, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah that are joining the Big 12 will be joining the fold in 2024. If there was a winner of realignment, the Big 12 would have to be it.

On top of immediately adding BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF following departures from Texas and Oklahoma they were able to leverage that into a media rights deal before the Pac-12. On top of that, they were also able to poach the four corner schools from the Pac-12 after the conference failed to acquire a media rights deal.

They have positioned themselves for stability for years to come.
