Former Utah Linebacker Owen Chambliss Transfers to San Diego State

San Diego State announced the acquisition of Utah's freshman linebacker Owen Chambliss via a post on X.

The former 3-star prospect out of Corona, California went to Centennial High School and chose Utah over the likes of USC, Oregon State, and Arizona among others. The 6'3" 230-pound linebacker recorded one tackle against Coach Prime's Colorado in his four games in a Utah uniform.

Chambliss announced his intent to transfer on December 4th during a time when it seemed as though a flurry of young talent was leaving the program for more playtime elsewhere.

Despite the loss of yet another young prospect, the Utes have redeemed their future outlook with a strong and underrated recruiting class as well as multiple transfer portal wins to not only fill key positions of need left by transfers or future draftees but also to add leadership and re-establish the winning culture the program has cemented in the past few seasons.
