With still a little more than three months until Utah football kicks off against Florida to begin the 2022 season, its never a bad thing to discuss something other than recruiting, schemes, players progress and what the depth chart may look like come September. In light of the sneak peak Utah fans were given of the 2022 hand-painted helmet, we decided to rank all of Utah's previous hand-painted helmets back to the 2016 season.

Approximately halfway through spring camp, Ute fans were given a taste of the 2022 hand-painted helmets. A breathtaking work of art and a beautiful tribute, the helmets will honor Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe. While these helmets remain in a league of their own, we'll rank all the helmets that came before.

Beginning at the bottom of the list, the 2017 hand-painted helmets are the obvious choice here. While flashing the U has become a significant symbol of Utah and their athletics program, putting it on the back of a helmet might not have been the best move. It was definitely a cool idea to try and somehow incorporate that into the special edition helmets, but the execution left a lot of fans unhappy.

A cartoony set of gloves on the back of the helmet would sound strange to anyone and to make things worse, the helmet didn't prove to be any better than it was described. Luckily however, it was all up from there as each of the remaining helmets were beautifully designed masterpieces that have not only left fans pleased for the most part, but make ranking the rest of them a difficult task.
