After one of the best finishes in program history, their highest AP poll ranking since 2014, and sustained excitement for the 2024 season… the Arizona Wildcats have had a terrible last 72 hours.

Coming off an Alamo Bowl victory over Oklahoma, things truly looked like they were falling into place for the No. 11 ranked Wildcats.

That was until Nick Saban retired.

When the GOAT of college football retired, it set off a domino effect that saw ramifications reach as far as Tucson. With Washington’s Kalen DeBoer accepting a position to be the next head coach in Tuscaloosa, the Huskies looked outward to fill their open head coaching position.

Arizona’s Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year finalist, Jedd Fisch, would be the one to answer the Huskies call.

With Fisch packing his bags and heading to Seattle, Arizona’s roster has begun to experience extreme uncertainty. While dust is far from settled in the wake of Fisch’s departure, this uncertainty has led to about 10 Arizona players entering their names in the transfer portal.

With all that being said, here are three Arizona transfers Utah should target.

Jonah Coleman (RB)

Coleman had over 1000 scrimmage yards in 2023 as Arizona’s lead running back. The rising sophomore from Stockton, California, was a nightmare for opponents and ran for a whopping 6.8 yards per carry throughout the season. Coleman additionally ran for 90 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries when the Wildcats trounced Utah. Overall, he was ranked as PFF’s 5th highest-graded RB and earned honors such as an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.

In addition to being an extremely explosive threat as a runner, Coleman can also punish teams as a pass-catching option. The 5’9 back had 25 receptions for 283 yards and a touchdown in 2023.

As a transfer prospect, Coleman would be a huge addition to a Utah team that just lost their No.1 option at RB. Although he and Ja’Quinden Jackson are completely different players, Coleman would surely be able to find success behind Utah’s strong offensive line. Currently, the junior back is being crystalballed to Washington.

Ephesians Prysock (CB)

Prysock is a junior cornerback who entered the transfer portal following the departure of Fisch. As a sophomore with the Wildcats, Prysock earned an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention for his impressive breakout season.

In 2023, Prysock ranked fourth on Arizona’s defense with 64 tackles. The 6’4 lengthy corner also added one interception from a game against Washington State. With long arms and an overall large frame, Prysock excels at tackling.

While Utah has already added cornerbacks like Michigan’s Cameron Calhoun and Georgia Tech’s Kenan Johnson by way of the portal, more playmakers at corner can never hurt. Prysock previously held an offer from Utah when he was a four-star recruit in the 2022 class.

Harris is a receiver who committed to Arizona as a part of the 2024 high school recruiting class. The 6 '0 wideout has yet to play an official collegiate snap, but signed with Arizona in December and was an early enrollee at the school in January.

Although he has yet to play a snap of collegiate football, Harris is very familiar with high-stakes football.

Harris played high school football at one of the nation’s premier high school football programs, Bishop Gorman. The Bishop Gorman Gaels completed an undefeated season in 2023 and managed to take home MaxPreps' ranking of "No.1 Best Team in the Nation". Harris was a large part of the team’s success. The senior receiver had 51 receptions for 1051 yards and 13 touchdowns. Harris averaged over a whopping 20 yards per catch.

Utah’s wide receiver situation is similar to the team’s corner one. The Utes have added quality receivers by way of the portal and also have talented in-house players, but could always use another playmaker. Utah initially extended Harris an offer to join their 2024 recruiting class and will now have a chance to pursue him in the portal.
