UCLA Head Coach Chip Kelly Reveals Which Utah QB He's Preparing Team For
On Saturday, the amazing conference that will likely cease to exist in a year in the Pac-12 has gifted college football fans with a handful of great matchups.
One of the most anticipated matchups of the Week 4 slate is taking place in Salt Lake City as the No. 11 Utes welcome the No. 22 UCLA Bruins to town with hopes of avenging last season's devastating loss. However, while all signs point to Cam Rising making his season debut, Bruins' head coach revealed to reporters which Utah quarterback he is actually preparing for.
Trick question (kind of), he's preparing for all three. Kelly spoke highly of Rising but acknowledged that he and the team are doing their best to expect the unexpected.
“I don’t know,” Chip Kelly said. “That’s a good question. I’ve got a ton of respect for Cam Rising. I think he’s an amazing competitor. We’ve played against him before. He’s been one of the top quarterbacks, not only in this league but in the country for a long time.”
He cited Nate Johnson as someone who has stood out, as the dual threat quarterback has been vital for the Utes the past couple weeks and provides a great running dynamic. He is also in line to start for the Utes, should Rising not be able to go. Kelly did explain that while he's not sure what to expect when it comes to Rising that he is well aware of how good the veteran signal caller is.

This past week, the Utes went from being a 4.5-point favorite to a six-point favorite, which is why many are speculating that Rising may be debuting for what will be a crucial Pac-12 game.
