Utah QB Commit Isaac Wilson Named MaxPreps POTY Finalist
On Monday, MaxPreps announced their five finalists for National Player of the Year, and one of the names that were included was Utah's four-star quarterback commit, Isaac Wilson.
The Corner Canyon product not only broke the single-season state record for total offense which was previously held by Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, but also ended up leading the Chargers to a 13-1 record and their first state title since the 2020 season. Wilson threw for an impressive 4,595 yards and 49 touchdowns, but also added an equally impressive amount of production on the ground, rushing for 1,304 yards and adding 13 more touchdowns.
Joining him as finalists are five-star quarterback and Florida commit D.J. Lagway, five-star Ohio State wide receiver commit Jeremiah Smith, four-star athlete Ju'Juan Johnson who is an LSU pledge, and three-star quarterback Jeremy Hecklinski who is committed to Wake Forest.
If Wilson were to win the award, he would mark the second Utah native to do so, joining fellow Corner Canyon alum Jaxson Dart.
According to MaxPreps, the winner is determined using the following factors:
