Utah quarterback Brandon Rose sends message to fans after going down with an injury
On Friday we learned that Florida will be starting Graham Mertz for their Week 1 matchup against Utah, but we still are unsure who the Utes will have behind center.
Something that has only gotten that much more murky after Friday's scrimmage. Cam Rising is still recovering from his knee injury, and while he is expected to be ready for the season, his status for the first game is not certain. That left the Utes with Bryson Barnes, Nate Johnson, and presumed second stringer Brandon Rose competing for the next in line role.
However, based on social media posts on Friday evening it appears that Rose was not only injured during a scrimmage but was actually hospitalized following a hit he took during the scrimmage.
While the injury has yet to be revealed, it now appears that Barnes and Johnson will be duking it out for the second spot. A role that could end up meaning they are starting the season opener against the Gators.
