Utah Signee Isaac Wilson Named Day One Polynesian Bowl Top Performer
Utah commit Isaac Wilson has been turning heads in Honolulu, where practices ahead of the 2024 Polynesian Bowl are taking place.
On Monday, Jan. 15th, day one of practices for the annual all-star showcase went down in the books and multiple analysts observed Wilson as a top performer.
Specifically, Greg Biggins, a 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst, who was on-site at Kamehameha HS and had Wilson as one of his top-10 performers through day one of Polynesian Bowl practice.
“The Utah signee flashed a quick release, getting the ball out almost as fast as he got it from the shotgun, and repeatedly hit receivers in stride,” said Biggins, “The four-star signal caller is a much better athlete than he’s given credit for and, although there weren’t many live periods on the initial workout, looked light on his feet.”
Speaking of athleticism, Wilson flaunted impressive arm strength during a segment of practice where quarterbacks showed off their arm strength in a farthest throw competition.
The 6 '1, future Utah signal caller, ripped off a 63-yard throw that was good enough for the third-longest throw of the day behind Nebraska commit Dylan Raiola and Utah Tech’s Ty McCutcheon.
As the week progresses, Wilson will continue to get more opportunities to show off his talent amidst some of the nation’s best incoming college freshmen.
Wilson is joined in Hawaii by a few other incoming Utes. Most notably, Zacharyus Williams, the Utes three-star wide receiver commit from Serra, CA. Trey Coleman, a three-star kicker committed to Utah, is also in attendance.
The week’s practices will culminate in a premier 11-on-11 all-star game, where future college stars will showcase their ability live on NFL Network.
The Utah Utes have had many past recruits participate in the Polynesian Bowl. Notable Utes in last year’s contest included Smith Snowden, Hunter Clegg, and Spencer Fano.
