WATCH: Utah CB Zemaiah Vaughn Snags Big INT vs. Baylor
The No. 12 Utah Utes have struggled to find any source of offense through three quarters of Saturday's meeting with the Baylor Bears at McLane Stadium, but luckily the defense has stepped up in order to help change the tide.
The Bears held a 13-3 lead midway through the third quarter and were looking to put a potentially fatal deficit in front of the Utes. The Utah offense had hardly seemed capable of overcoming an even larger deficit.
But Utah cornerback Zemaiah Vaughn is back in his home state of Texas and making some potentially game-changing plays. On Baylor's first play of the second drive of the half, Bears quarterback Sawyer Robertson tossed a questionable pass down the field that Vaughn made a play on. The Beaumont, Texas native made the diving interception, which led to a Utah field goal to cut the lead to 13-6.
The Utes got the ball back after forcing Baylor into a three-and-out on the next possession. Down by just a touchdown with the fourth quarter beginning, Utah will be looking to tie the game and avoid the road upset.
