Utes LB Justin Medlock Officially Transfers to SMU
After announcing his intent to transfer out of the program on November 29th, Justin Medlock has a new program to call home.
Coming into Utah Medlock was a three-star prospect out of Manvel, Texas. The 6'0" 220-pound defenseman finished his career at the U with 9 total tackles with the majority being in the 2023 season as he racked up 7 which was up from the previous year's total of 2.
On3Sports writer Billy Embody announced the Medlock transfer via a post on X.

Medlock gives the Mustangs flexibility as the linebacker is sporting 3 more years of eligibility and his uptick in usage this year proves his abilities are progressing which is a positive sign for SMU moving forward.
For the Utes, this comes as another blow to the defensive depth going into next year but with ample time to plan for a replacement, the program should have minimal repercussions that stem from the move.
