Spring camp is officially in the books for Utah football, and until August, the spring game will be the only glimpse of how the revamped roster plays. While there were a lot of things to hone in on for fans and the media, some takeaways including connections and individual performances stood out more than others.

The Rising to Singer Connection is Electric

Throughout spring camp, the Cam Rising to Dorian Singer rapport has shown incredibly promise, and the spring game saw that connection flourish for the public to behold. The opening drive for the red team showed immediately what has been brewing in the practices prior. Rising went 15-19 for 208 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Singer snagged 5 receptions for 92 yards. It's safe to say that Singer is Rising's most talented target, and the fact that they've found their groove with such little time together proves a tiresome task for any defense in 2024.

Isaac Wilson is the Future

Fans got their first glimpse of highly-touted prospect Isaac Wilson during the spring game, and he didn't disappoint. In his first game speed action, Wilson went 6-8 for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns and provided himself a massive boost in the QB2 battle heading into August. Fans and media alike were dazzled by his efficient play and no nonsense decision-making, and it's clear to see that the program is in good hands once Cam passes on the torch.

Cam Calhoun is Special

CB Cam Calhoun is a new addition to the squad from Michigan was easily the defensive standout of the spring game. Coach Whittingham highlighted Calhoun's performance in his post-game interview, and Calhoun expressed his confidence in the defense and their abilities, going so far as to say the goal was to win the national title. Calhoun has proven himself to be a crucial addition to the team on the field and in the locker room, and will be a nightmare matchup for any wide receiver lined up against him.
