Vanderbilt Football Recruit: SI All-American Candidate Aalah Brown

The Vanderbilt Commodores are heavily recruiting wide receivers in the class of 2021, with Aalah Brown among them.

The college football recruiting season is in full swing, and the Vanderbilt Commodores staff of head coach Derek Mason have been blessed with more time to put into their efforts during the pandemic.

In having extra time to evaluate potential players, coaches have possibly offered more scholarships to players in this cycle than ever before, and many players are making their decisions earlier in the process to guarantee their place among the recruits in the school of their choice.

Wide receiver Aalah Brown, a candidate for SI's All-American team honors in 2020 is one of the top receivers recruits on the Vanderbilt board for the class of 2021.

At 5'10" 185-pounds, the Valdosta High (Ga.) product is not the prototypical new-age tall receiver teams are desperate to find. Instead, Brown brings elite quickness and short-area speed and elusiveness to the slot position.

A very productive player, Brown's best attribute is his ability to make contested catches where he is more than willing to fight for the football in the air.

There is good news for the Commodores here, as Brown lists them, along with Georgia Tech, Oregon, West Virginia, and Cincinnati as teams of interest.

Brown also holds other offers, 13 in total, with Ole Miss and Tennessee of the SEC included.

Still, the interest in the Commodores for a player of this talent level is impressive, but it is up to Derek Mason and his staff to finish with his signature.

Some believe that Georgia Tech is the leader, though Brown has not stated that publicly, and he has not shared any possible timeline for his decision.

His recruitment should be followed closer than others by Commodore fans because of his expressed interest in the program.
