College football players to exploit new red shirt rules?

The University of Houston announced that quarterback D’Eriq King will redshirt the rest of this season and come back in 2020. Last year, a new redshirt rule was put in place that allows players to appear in up to four games in a season and still take a redshirt, so they don’t lose a year of eligibility. King’s father told Houston’s FOX 26 that his son plans to transfer. King’s statement says he plans to stay at Houston, get his degree, and develop as a QB. He set the AAC single-season record with 50 total touchdowns in 2018. SI Now hosts Robin Lundberg and Amy Campbell weigh in on the decision.
