Blake Hinson Says Mississippi State Flag Played a Role in His Transfer to Iowa State

A group of coaches and administrators are lobbying to get the state flag changed

Former Ole Miss basketball player Blake Hinson says the Confederate symbol in the Mississippi state flag played a role in his choice to transfer to Iowa State. A group of 46 coaches and administrators from eight public universities, including University of Mississippi basketball coach Kermit Davis, went to the state legislature Thursday to lobby for the emblem's removal. SI's Madelyn Burke shares more on Hinson's transfer and what players and coaches around the state are doing to change the state flag.
