A 12-Team College Football Playoff Would Generate Some Exciting Matchups

SI's Pat Forde shares his proposal for a 12-team College Football Playoff

In tandem with Pat Forde's idea for restructuring the NCAA, Forde has also come up with a way to structure a college football playoff. In his proposed playoff structure, four teams will get byes while the other eight compete to win out on college campuses in the first round of the playoffs. Forde believes the proposal would give college football fans matchups they wouldn't typically see and at the same time do away with some of the superfluous bowl games.
