Analyzing the Potential Power 5 Conference COVID-19 Protocols

College athletes will miss 10 days if they test positive for COVID-19, two weeks if they are exposed to someone who is positive.

The Power 5 conferences have drafted a medical document to add uniformity to coronavirus testing protocols and response procedures. The document is not yet finalized but is a guideline on how things will be handled if a college football player tests positive for COVID-19.

If a player tests positive for the coronavirus they will be required to miss at least 10 days of competition. If they are exposed to someone who has tested positive, that number is even higher—a full two weeks.
