NCAA: BACA Chair Daniyal Robinson Discusses Group's Vision

BACA will support athletes with everything from financial literacy to voter registration

Last week Black assistant coaches in the Big 12 announced the formation of the Big 12 Black Assistant Coaches Alliance (BACA), a response to the social unrest around the country over the past five months.

The group, which is chaired by Iowa State assistant men’s basketball coach Daniyal Robinson, has four core values: Educate, unify, serve and support, offering student athletes help with everything from voter registration to healing the tensions between young black athletes and police through a partnership.

“We just want all of the student athletes to be as prepared and as supported as possible,” Robinson said. “In every way; not just in sports, but in life too.”
