Virginia Women's Basketball
In the first year under Amaka Agugua-Hamilton, Virginia finished the regular season 15-14 overall and 4-14 in ACC play. UVA has earned the No. 13 seed in the ACC Tournament and will face No. 12 seed Wake Forest in the first round on Wednesday at 1pm at Greensboro Coliseum. The winner will advance to face No. 5 seed Florida State in the second round on Thursday at 11am. The winner of that second round game advances to face No. 4 seed Louisville in the quarterfinals on Friday at 11am.
Virginia and Wake Forest faced each other very early this season, as the Demon Deacons visited the Cavaliers back on November 13th in what was only UVA's third game of the regular season. Virginia won the ACC opener against Wake Forest 72-52. Last season, the Demon Deacons defeated the Cavaliers 61-53 in the first round of the ACC Tournament to end UVA's season.
Virginia is seeking its first ACC Tournament win since the end of the 2018-2019 season.
