Both of Virginia's tennis teams earned 7-0 sweeps against in-state opponents on Sunday at Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville. UVA women's tennis swept William & Mary and then the Virginia men's tennis team picked up a 7-0 sweep over Radford on Sunday evening.

The UVA women's tennis team breezed through doubles play with a pair of smooth wins by Julie Adams and Melodie Collard, who won 6-0, and Natasha Subhash and Annabelle Xu, who claimed a 6-1 victory to secure the doubles point.

In singles play, each of the six Cavaliers won in straight sets and each player won her second set 6-1. Annabelle Xu defeated William & Mary's Emma Fernald 6-3, 6-1 on court 4 and Natasha Subhash made it 3-0 in favor of the Cavaliers with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Sofiya Kuzina on court 2. Julia Adams had the honor of clinching the match with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Hedda Gurholt on the top court. Hibah Shaikh defeated Ine Stange 6-2, 6-1 and Sara Ziodato earned a 6-3, 6-1 win against Elisa Van Meeteren on court 3. Nicole Kiefer completed the sweep with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Alisia Manolescu on court 6.

The Virginia women's tennis team moved to 5-0 on the season and remains unbeaten heading into the ITA National Team Indoor Championships next week in Seattle.

The UVA men's tennis team had its 29-match winning streak snapped on Friday in a thrilling 4-3 loss to No. 5 Kentucky, the same team Virginia defeated in the 2022 NCAA Championship Final. The Cavaliers bounced back from the loss with a clean sweep over Radford on Sunday.

Ryan Goetz and Douglas Yaffa won 6-1 on court 3 and Inaki Montes and Alexander Kiefer earned a 6-3 victory on court 2 to clinch the doubles point for Virginia.

Inaki Montes dominated his opponent on court 2 in singles play, defeating Aditya Balsekar 6-0, 6-1. Ryan Goetz added a 6-2, 6-0 win over Konstantinos Raptis on court 3 to make it 3-0. Alexander Kiefer clinched the win for Virginia, defeating Guilherme Severin 6-1, 6-3 on court 4. Jeffrey von der Schulenburg won 6-2, 6-2 over Demis Taramonlis on the top court. Douglass Yaffa won a hard-fought first set and then dominated the second set to win 7-6, 6-0 against Filippo Marangoni. Finally, William Woodall earned a hard-fought 7-5, 3-6, 10-1 victory over Charles Courteau on Court 6 to complete the sweep.

Virginia (7-1) will likely lose its No. 1 ranking after falling to Kentucky on Friday, but the Cavaliers will have a big opportunity to regain some momentum with another top five opponent coming to Charlottesville next weekend, as No. 2 Ohio State visits UVA on Saturday at 1pm at Boar's Head.
