For the third-straight season, the Virginia men's tennis team finished the regular season undefeated in ACC play. The 7th-ranked Cavaliers wrapped up the regular season this weekend with a 4-1 win over Clemson on Friday and a 6-1 victory over Georgia Tech on Sunday at Boar's Head in Charlottesville, completing the ACC slate unbeaten for the 12th time ever and winning the ACC regular season title for the 16th time in program history. 

Virginia honored its two seniors - Ryan Goetz and William Woodall - before Sunday's match as part of the Senior Day festivities at Boar's Head. Goetz and his doubles partner Alexander Kiefer won their match and he was also victiorious in his singles match 6-1, 6-2 on court 4. Kiefer earned a 6-3, 7-6 win on court 5, putting the finishing touches on an undefeated campaign in conference play, going 10-0 in singles matches in ACC action this season. No. 10 Chris Rodesch, who was named the ACC Player of the Week last week, defeated a top 10 opponent for the third time this season by defeating No. 9 Andres Martin of Georgia Tech 6-4, 6-7, 10-4 on the top court. Inaki Montes clinched the victory for UVA with a 6-4, 6-4 win on court 2. 

Virginia has now won 45-consecutive matches against ACC opponents and 38-straight in ACC regular season play. 

Virginia finishes the regular season 21-4 overall and 12-0 in ACC play and has earned the No. 1 overall seed in the ACC Men's Tennis Championship, which begins this week at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina. UVA has a double-bye in the tournament and will face the winner of No. 8 Miami and No. 9 Georgia Tech in the quarterfinals on Friday at 3:30pm. 


Meanwhile, the No. 9 UVA women's tennis team bounced back after falling at No. 8 NC State 5-2 on Friday in Raleigh by winning 6-1 at Wake Forest on Sunday afternoon. Virginia wrapped up the regular season with a 17-5 overall record and a 10-3 mark in ACC play, earning the No. 4 seed in the 2023 ACC Women's Tennis Championship, which also begins this week in Cary. UVA has a double-bye and will face either No. 5 Miami, No. 12 Clemson, or No. 13 Virginia Tech in the quarterfinals on Friday at 10am.
