Game Time Announced for Virginia's College World Series Game vs. Florida

UVA will take on Florida to open the College World Series on Friday night in Omaha

The No. 7 seed Virginia baseball team (50-13) will open play at the 2023 College World Series against No. 2 seed Florida on Friday, June 16th at 7pm ET in Omaha, Nebraska, as announced by the NCAA on Monday night. 

UVA's side of the bracket features Florida, TCU, and Oral Roberts. TCU and Oral Roberts will open the College World Series on Friday at 2pm and the winner of that game will face the winner of Virginia vs. Florida on Sunday at 7pm. The losers will play an elimination game on Sunday at 2pm. The bracket will proceed in a double-elimination format until one team is left standing to advance to the College World Series Finals. 

College World Series Bracket 1 Schedule:

Game 1, Friday at 2pm: Oral Roberts vs. TCU
Game 2, Friday at 7pm: No. 7 Virginia vs. No. 2 Florida
Game 5, Sunday at 2pm: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2
Game 6, Sunday at 7pm: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2
Game 9, Tuesday at 2pm: Winner Game 5 vs. Loser Game 6
Game 11, Wednesday at 2pm: Winner Game 9 vs. Winner Game 6
Bracket 1 if necessary game: Thursday at 2pm or 7pm

The other bracket of the College World Series will have its opening games on Saturday and features No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 5 LSU and the winners of No. 8 Stanford/Texas and Southern Miss/Tennessee, who are playing the third games of their respective Super Regionals on Monday night. 

Virginia is making its second appearance in the College World Series in the last three years and sixth in program history.
