UVA's O'Ferrall & Woolfolk Named to USA Baseball Collegiate National Team
The 31-man roster for the 2023 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team was announced on Thursday and two current Virginia baseball players made the cut. UVA sophomore shortstop Griff O'Ferrall and sophomore pitcher Jay Woolfolk were selected to the Collegiate National Team that will represent the United States in a pair of five-game series with Chinese Taipei and Japan from June 30-July 12 in North Carolina.
The roster was selected following the 2023 Collegiate National Team Training Camp, which took place this week in Cary, North Carolina. O'Ferrall and Woolfolk delivered solid performances during the four-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series, with O'Ferrall going 5 for 14 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI and Woolfolk not surrendering a single run in three innings of work while striking out five batters across three appearances.
Virginia is one of just six college baseball programs with multiple selections to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team this season. This is the third time that the Cavaliers have had multiple players selected (2006 and 2021).
With O'Ferrall and Woolfolk making the roster, 15 Cavaliers have made the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team all-time:

Seth Greisinger (1996)
Ryan Zimmerman (2004)
Sean Doolittle (2005, 2006)
