Virginia is on a roll entering postseason play, winning each of its last nine games of the regular season, claiming the ACC Coastal title for the first time since 2011, and securing the No. 2 seed in this week's ACC Baseball Championship. After a rough three-week stretch in April, the Cavaliers got back on track coming out of the final exam break and have begun to build some serious momentum at just the right time, a development that is reflected in this week's college baseball media polls.

UVA moved up in each of the major college baseball rankings this week. Most notably, D1Baseball, which kept Virginia at No. 21 after sweeping Louisville last weekend, has come around on the Hoos after they swept Georgia Tech on the road to end the regular season on a nine-game winning streak, moving the Cavaliers up nine spots to No. 12 in this week's poll. Virginia is a consensus top-15 team and is ranked in the top ten in three of the rankings.

Perfect Game: Virginia moves up six spots to No. 12

Baseball America: Virginia moves up five spots to No. 9

USA TODAY Coaches Poll: Virginia moves up four spots to No. 9

D1Baseball also has Virginia as the No. 8 overall seed in its latest NCAA Tournament projections. As one of the top eight national seeds, the Cavaliers would be in line to host both the regional and super regional rounds of the NCAA Tournament at Disharoon Park in Charlottesville.

In order to achieve that goal, the Cavaliers need to deliver a good showing at the ACC Baseball Championship this week. Virginia (44-11, 19-11 ACC) is the No. 2 seed and will face No. 11 seed Georgia Tech on Wednesday at 3pm and No. 7 seed North Carolina on Thursday at 3pm at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina.
