For the first time in seven years, Virginia will host a regional in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. UVA was selected on Sunday night as one of 16 schools to serve as a regional host site for the 2023 NCAA Baseball Championship. This weekend, the Cavaliers will host the Charlottesville Regional at Disharoon Park for the first time since 2016 and 10th time in program history.

Virginia (45-12) will make its third-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 20th appearance in program history. UVA is seeking its sixth trip to the College World Series and first since 2021.

Virginia is still hoping to earn a top 8 national seed in the NCAA Tournament, which would guarantee the Cavaliers home field advantage for both the regional and super regional rounds of the tournament should they advance. That will be revealed on Monday along with the full 64-team field, which will also tell UVA the other three teams that will be participating in the Charlottesville Regional. The official bracket for the 2023 NCAA Baseball Championship will be unveiled on Monday, May 29th at 12pm ET on ESPN2.

The regional round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament begins Friday, June 2nd and runs through Monday, June 5th.
