Four-Star Forward Jacob Cofie Schedules Official Visit to Virginia
One of UVA's priority recruiting targets in the class of 2024 has reportedly locked in an official visit. 2024 four-star forward Jacob Cofie scheduled a visit to Virginia for the weekend of September 8th, a date that coincides with UVA's first home football game against JMU, as reported by 247Sports' Brandon Jenkins.
The report also stated that possible visits with Ohio State, Florida, and USC are in the works for Cofie, who has already taken visits to Washington and Oregon. A 6'9", 225-pound power forward out of Eastside Catholic in Sammamish, Washington, Cofie boasts offers from Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Ohio State, USC, Washington State, and Utah. The Cavaliers jumped in with an offer on July 10th and now, Cofie is set to come to Virginia for an official visit in a little over a month.
A consensus top 100 prospect in the class of 2024 by each of the major recruiting services, Cofie is rated a four-star recruit by the 247Sports Composite, which also lists him as the No. 87 overall player in the country, the No. 15 power forward in his class, and the No. 1-ranked recruit in the state of Washington.
UVA now has three official visitors from the recruiting class of 2024 scheduled to come during the month of September. Cofie will visit Virginia on September 8th. Kon Knueppel, a five-star wing and top 20 overall recruit in the country, is set to visit on September 14th. Finally, four-star forward Matthew Hodge is scheduled to visit on September 21st.
Virginia is hoping that at least one of these official visit will produce a second verbal commit to pair with four-star point guard Christian Bliss, who became UVA's first commit in the class of 2024 back on June 30th.
