In this story:

After losing eight scholarship players at the end of the season in March, Virginia bounced back by bringing in four additions - three transfers and a high school recruit - in a successful recruiting spree in the month of April. Next season, the Cavaliers will have seven total newcomers to go along with four returning players, filling 11 of their 13 scholarship spots for the 2023-2024 men's basketball season - 12 if Reece Beekman decides to return.

See Virginia's full scholarship picture for the next four seasons in the chart below.

Note: the 2020-2021 season continues to be a "freebie" season that does not count against a player's eligibility. The graphic below shows Virginia's scholarship picture with the assumption that every player utilizes the extent of his eligibility. For UVA's roster, that applies to Reece Beekman, Dante Harris, Jordan Minor, and Jake Groves.

*Reece Beekman declared for the NBA Draft back on March 30th, but maintained his collegiate eligibility, keeping open the option of returning to UVA. Beekman was one of 78 players to receive an invite to the NBA Draft Combine, which will be held May 16-21 in Chicago. Beekman's decision to either keep his name in the draft or withdraw will likely come after the Combine, but it will come no later than May 31st at 11:59pm ET, which is the deadline for NBA Draft entrants to withdraw their names from the draft pool and retain their NCAA eligibility.

Here's a current position breakdown for Virginia's 2023-2024 roster:

Point Guards: Reece Beekman*, Dante Harris

Shooting Guards/Wings: Andrew Rohde, Isaac McKneely, Taine Murray, Leon Bond III, Elijah Gertrude

Forwards/Centers: Ryan Dunn, Jordan Minor, Jake Groves, Blake Buchanan, Anthony Robinson
