One of UVA's recruiting targets in the class of 2024 has come off the board. Four-star wing Caleb Williams announced his commitment to Georgetown on Sunday morning, choosing the Hoyas over offers from Villanova, Michigan, Indiana, Syracuse, Miami, and Virginia.

A 6'7" wing from Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C., Williams had offers from a dozen programs, but has decided to remain at home and play for new Georgetown head coach Ed Cooley. The combination of playing close to home and his relationship with Cooley seemed to be the biggest factors in Williams ending up at Georgetown.

"I have become super close with other head coaches as well but there was something different about me and coach Cooley’s connection. This relationship felt the most genuine," Williams said in an interview with On3's Joe Tipton. "The one thing that other schools couldn’t offer me was being able to win at home and that was a huge factor in choosing Georgetown.”

The 247Sports Composite has Williams rated as a four-star prospect as well as the No. 101 overall recruit in the class of 2024 and the No. 2 player in Washington D.C. Williams visited Virginia unofficially multiple times during his recruitment, but never took an official visit to UVA.

With Williams off the board, Virginia currently has active offers out to eight players in the recruiting class of 2024:

CG Jaeden Mustaf (Matthews, NC)
SF Isaiah Abraham (Warrenton, VA)
SG Rakease Passmore (Asheville, NC)
SF Kon Knueppel (Milwaukee, WI)
PG Travis Perry (Eddyville, KY)
C Patrick Ngongba II (Fairfax, VA)
PG Christian Bliss (Newtown, PA)
PG Trent Perry (Studio City, CA)
