UVA's search for a point guard in the recruiting class of 2024 continues. Trent Perry, a four-star point guard from California, announced on Thursday afternoon that he has received an offer from Virginia, specifically thanking Tony Bennett and UVA director of player personnel Johnny Carpenter.

A 6'4", 175-pound point guard out of Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, Perry is ranked the No. 8 combo guard in the country by 247Sports, the No. 6 recruit in the state of California, and the No. 69 overall prospect in the recruiting class of 2024. UVA joins a long list of programs who have offered Perry, including UCLA, USC, Cal, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Stanford, Vanderbilt, and others. Perry took an official visit to Colorado on September 23rd and has also visited Vanderbilt and Loyola Marymount.

The sell for Tony Bennett and the UVA coaching staff to Trent Perry will be simple: come to Virginia and become the latest California point guard to have a legendary career as a Cavalier. London Perrantes (Los Angeles, CA) was a four-year starting point guard at Virginia and helped put the program back on the map, winning two ACC regular season titles, one ACC Tournament Championship, and he became the first Cavalier in program history to win an NCAA Tournament game in four-consecutive seasons. Two years later, Kihei Clark (Woodland Hills, CA) joined the program and his decorated five-year career at UVA included three ACC regular season titles and a national championship and Clark finished his career as the ACC's all-time leader in wins and minutes and as UVA's all-time leader in assists, wins, games, and starts.

Securing a commitment from a point guard is one of Virginia's top priorities in the recruiting class of 2024. In addition to Trent Perry, Tony Bennett and the UVA coaching staff have offered point guards Daniel Freitag (Minneapolis, MN), Travis Perry (Eddyville, KY), and Christian Bliss (Newtown, PA) in the 2024 class.

Virginia currently has active offers out to 12 players in the recruiting class of 2024:

PF Jarin Stevenson (Pittsboro, NC)
CG Jaeden Mustaf (Matthews, NC)
SG Jayden "Juke" Harris (Salisbury, NC)
SF Caleb Williams (Washington D.C.)
SF Isaiah Abraham (Warrenton, VA)
SG Rakease Passmore (Asheville, NC)
SF Kon Knueppel (Milwaukee, WI)
PG Daniel Freitag (Minneapolis, MN)
PG Travis Perry (Eddyville, KY)
C Patrick Ngongba II (Fairfax, VA)
PG Christian Bliss (Newtown, PA)
PG Trent Perry (Studio City, CA)
