Virginia Gets No. 4 Seed in NCAA Tournament, Will Face Furman in Orlando

UVA will take on Furman in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday in Orlando

After a one-year hiatus, Tony Bennett has the Cavaliers back in the NCAA Tournament. Virginia has earned the No. 4 seed in the South Region of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament and will face No. 13 seed Furman on Thursday in the first round at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. 

Virginia is in the same region as the No. 1 overall seed Alabama along with No. 2 Arizona and No. 3 Baylor. The winner of the Virginia/Furman game will play the winner of No. 5 San Diego State and No. 12 Charleston in the second round.

2023 NCAA bracket

This is Virginia's 25th appearance in the NCAA Tournament in program history and the ninth NCAA Tournament appearance under Tony Bennett. This is the fourth time that UVA has been a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament, most recently in 2021. 

No. 4 Virginia (25-7) will take on No. 13 Furman (27-7) at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida on Thursday. The game will tip off at 12:40pm ET and will air on TruTV.
