Tony Bennett and the Cavaliers extended their second reported scholarship offer in the class of 2026 this week, as four-star point guard Jonathan Sanderson announced on Thursday that he has received an offer from Virginia.

A 6'2" point guard out of Saline High School in Michigan, Sanderson has already received a lot of attention on the recruiting trail despite just entering his sophomore year of high school. The Midwest is certainly on alert, with Michigan, Illinois, Purdue, Iowa, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and a handful of mid-majors already offering the sophomore guard.

Sanderson is a gifted playmaking point guard, displaying court vision and passing skills beyond his years and a consistent jumper from beyond the arc. It's still a little early for most of the recruiting sites to come in with their rankings for the class of 2026, but the 247Sports Composite already ranks Sanderson as a four-star prospect, the No. 44 overall recruit in the class of 2026, the No. 6 point guard in the country, and the No. 2 player in the state of Michigan.

Sanderson is the second class of 2026 recruit to pick up an offer from Virginia, joining four-star center Latrell Allmond from Richmond.
