Virginia Picked 4th in ACC Preseason Poll, Beekman Selected First-Team All-ACC

The 2023-2024 ACC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll was unveiled on Thursday afternoon and Virginia was picked to finish 4th and received one first place vote as selected by the media. Additionally, Reece Beekman was one of five players selected to the Preseason All-ACC First Team. 

Duke was voted the preseason favorite for the eighth time in the last 11 seasons, receiving 44 first-place votes and 757 total points. Following the defending ACC Champion Blue Devils are the Miami Hurricanes with five first-place votes (693 points) and the North Carolina Tar Heels (670 points) with one first-place vote. Virginia was picked fourth with 593 points and one first-place vote and Clemson was fifth with 570 points. The Cavaliers have finished equal to or better than their predicted finish in 13 of the last 15 seasons. 

Beekman, who was the ACC Defensive Player of the Year and an All-ACC Third Team selection last season, is joined on the Preseason All-ACC First-Team by ACC Preseason Player of the Year Kyle Filipowski of Duke, North Carolina's Armando Bacot, Clemson's PJ Hall, and Miami's Norchad Omier. The Preseason All-ACC Second Team is Syracuse's Judah Mintz, Miami's Nijel Pack, Pittsburgh's Blake Hinson, Duke's Tyrese Proctor, and Boston College's Quinten Post. Elliot Cadeau of North Carolina was voted the ACC Preseason Rookie of the Year.
