Clemson DB Malcolm Greene Announces Transfer to Virginia
Tony Elliott's Clemson to Virginia pipeline has paid off again.
Clemson defensive back transfer Malcolm Greene announced his commitment to Virginia in a social media post on Monday afternoon.
A 5'10", 195-pound defensive back out of Highland Springs High School in Richmond Virginia, Greene will return to his home state and reunite with his younger brother Miles Greene, an incoming first year defensive lineman set to enroll at UVA for the 2023 season.
A four-star recruit coming out of Highland Springs, Greene was recruited by Virginia and visited once during his recruiting process, but ultimately ended up heading to Clemson. Greene played in 29 total games and made five starts over the last three seasons with the Tigers, recording 40 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
With some heavy competition in the Clemson cornerback room expected to push him down the depth chart, Greene decided to enter the transfer portal on April 20th. With the Cavaliers in need of reinforcements at the cornerback position, it was a perfect fit for Greene to return to his home state of Virginia and provide an instant boost of talent and experience to UVA's cornerback unit. Greene comes to Virginia with two years of eligibility remaining.
Malcolm Greene is third transfer to commit to Virginia this spring, joining Dayton offensive lineman Brian Stevens and Penn State offensive lineman Jimmy Christ. Greene is also the second player to transfer from Clemson to Virginia this offseason, joining running back Kobe Pace.
