Virginia sixth year defensive tackle Aaron Faumui was announced on Thursday as the third and final UVA athlete partnering with local McDonald's franchises owned and operated by RAHE Inc. In collaboration with CavFutures, UVA's alumni-driven NIL collective, local McDonald's franchises are partnering with Faumui as well as UVA basketball stars Kymora Johnson and Reece Beekman for this academic year.

As is the case with Johnson and Beekman's partnerships, Faumui will promote his favorite combo meal at participating McDonald's locations in Charlottesville and the Shenandoah Valley and he will also participate in social media promotions and activities for the Ronald McDonald House. Additionally, Faumui will appear in a commercial as a pre-game special ahead of the Virginia football season opener against Tennessee. Participating McDonald's locations will feature full-body cutouts of Faumui, Johnson, and Beekman throughout the partnership.

“I have a lot of happy memories eating at McDonald’s with my family after football games when I was younger, so I'm honored to have the opportunity to work with them during at my time here at UVA,” said Aaron Faumui. “I am excited for the season ahead and am looking forward to working with McDonald’s and the Ronald McDonald House this year.”

A 6'2", 302-pound defensive tackle from Hawai'i, Faumui is coming off a strong 2022 campaign that saw him earn an All-ACC honorable mention after tallying 39 tackles, four sacks, and 8.5 tackles for loss. As Faumui and UVA's stout defensive line look to power the Cavaliers to a successful 2023 UVA football season, Faumui will also be making an impact in the Charlottesville community along with Kymora Johnson and Reece Beekman through this collaboration with CavFutures and the local McDonald's franchises.

“Aaron is a great individual on and off the football field and I’m glad we were able to connect him with this opportunity," said Lo Davis, executive director of CavFutures. "Between Aaron, Kymora and Reece, McDonald’s will be working with some amazing athletes and people and it’s exciting to see our partnership with them continue.”
