Virginia Football Adds Five-Star Punter/Kicker Elijah Slibeck to 2023 Recruiting Class
Tony Elliott and the Cavaliers secured a late addition to their 2023 recruiting class as five-star punter/kicker Elijah Slibeck announced his commitment to Virginia on Tuesday night. "Very proud to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at UVA," Slibeck wrote in a social media post.
A 6'5", 220-pound athlete from Fishers, Indiana, Slibeck is a five-star prospect according to Kohl's Kicking, a program that trains and evaluates kickers, punters, and long snappers. Kohl's ranks Slibeck as the No. 15 kicker in the country in the class of 2023 and the No. 66 punter. Slibeck excelled as both a kicker and a punter in his career at Warren Central High School in Indianapolis.
Virginia offered Slibeck on February 17th and he took a visit to UVA on March 19th. Slibeck ultimately chose the Cavaliers over offers from Indiana, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Air Force, and Columbia, and was also recruited by several other programs, taking visits to Ohio State and Duke in March.
Slibeck signed with Virginia on Tuesday and will be on the roster this fall, providing helpful depth behind UVA's expected starting kicker Will Bettridge and starting punter Daniel Sparks and Slibeck could compete for the starting spot at either position throughout his career at Virginia.
