Virginia football announced its promotional schedule for the seven home games to be played at Scott Stadium during the 2023 season. 

In what will undoubtedly be an emotional home opener, Virginia's game against James Madison on September 9th at noon will take place on 'UVA Strong Day' as the Cavaliers play their 500th game at Scott Stadium, but their first since the tragic shooting last November that claimed the lives of UVA football players Lavel Davis Jr., Devin Chandler, and D'Sean Perry. There is expected to be several memorial tributes to honor the victims throughout the course of the game. Fans are also encouraged to wear orange for that game against JMU. 

UVA has dubbed the ACC opener against NC State on Friday, September 22nd at 7:30pm as the "True Blue Game" with fans encouraged to wear blue. The Friday night matchup will see the returns of former UVA quarterback Brennan Armstrong, former UVA offensive coordinator Robert Anae, and former UVA offensive line coach Garett Tujague, who are all now at NC State. 

The final non-conference game of the season against William & Mary on Saturday, October 7th will serve as UVA's Homecomings game. It was also be the Breast Cancer Awareness Game, with the Cavaliers' uniforms expected to have pink accents and the coaches likely to wear pink as well. Additionally, that game against William & Mary will take place on Cavman's Crew Day, with special benefits for members of Cavman's Crew, the official Kids Club of Virginia Athletics. 

Virginia's game against Georgia Tech on Saturday, November 4th will take place on Family Weekend and will also celebrate Band Day. On Saturday, November 18th, Virginia will celebrate Heroes Appreciation Day during its game against Duke, honoring United States military personnel and first responders. 

And of course, the regular season will end with the Commonwealth Clash against Virginia Tech on Saturday, November 25th, which will also serve as Senior Day.
