Virginia released its depth chart for the game against NC State on Friday night at Scott Stadium. See UVA's complete week 4 depth chart in the image below:
Takeaways
- There is no change at the quarterback position on the depth chart, with Tony Muskett still listed as the starter and Anthony Colandrea listed as the backup. That's been the case for the last two weeks even though Colandrea ended up starting in both games. Muskett is still working his way back from a shoulder injury suffered in the season opener against Tennessee.
- There is a little shifting at running back, as Mike Hollins is now the lead running back followed by Kobe Pace OR Perris Jones, who was the lead back for the first three weeks.
- There are some changes at wide receiver as JR Wilson is now listed as a starter, taking the spot from Demick Starling, who is not listed on the depth chart. Tony Elliott reported in his press conference that Starling is going to redshirt the rest of the season. Jaden Gibson is still the backup at that wideout spot, while Dakota Twitty is backing up Malachi Fields on the other side.
- Brian Stevens is now listed as the starting center on the offensive line. Stevens replaced Ty Furnish as the starting center last week, but this is the first time that the change has been reflected on the depth chart. Furnish is now starting at right guard. Jimmy Christ is still not listed on the depth chart, but Elliott says Jimmy Christ is "full go" in practice.
- In the secondary, the "OR" has returned between Sam Westfall and Malcolm Greene at right corner after Westfall had previously won the job coming into week 2.
- There are no changes to the depth chart in the defensive front seven or on special teams.
Virginia (0-3) hosts NC State (2-1) in the ACC opener on Friday night at Scott Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
