Virginia Picks Up Commitment From Three-Star Offensive Lineman Grant Ellinger
The Virginia football program hosted several top recruiting targets on Grounds this weekend for their official visits. The Cavaliers are hopeful that the weekend will result in more than a few verbal commitments in the near future.
UVA got some good news on that front on Monday evening as three-star offensive lineman Grant Ellinger, one of the visitors from the weekend, announced his commitment to Virginia in a social media post.
A 6'4", 270-pound interior offensive lineman from Naperville, Illinois, Ellinger is rated the No. 119 interior offensive lineman in the class of 2024 and the No. 36 overall prospect in the state of Illinois. Ellinger held offers from more than 20 programs, including Cincinnati, Kansas, Coastal Carolina, Army, Toledo, Miami (Ohio), Air Force, Colorado State, Penn, Yale, Marshall, Central Michigan, and others.

Ellinger took an unofficial visit to UVA during spring practice and then returned to Charlottesville this past weekend for his official visit, connecting well with Virginia offensive line coach Terry Heffernan and head coach Tony Elliott and reinforcing the idea that UVA was the right place for him.
Ellinger made it official on Monday night, becoming the fourth verbal commit in the Virginia football recruiting class of 2024, joining offensive lineman Benjamin York (Burke, VA), athlete Ethan Minter (Chester, VA), and tight end John Rogers (Alexandria, VA).
