Virginia Picks Up Commitment From Three-Star Offensive Tackle Jon Adair
While things are starting to heat up in the transfer portal for the Cavaliers, they are also hard at work on the high school recruiting front. Virginia picked up its third verbal commitment in the 2025 recruiting class, as three-star offensive lineman Jon Adair announced his commitment to UVA on Friday morning, choosing the Cavaliers over several other Power Five programs.
"I am so honored to announce my commitment to play football at the University of Virginia," Adair wrote in a social media post.
A 6'5", 280-pound offensive tackle who plays for Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, Adair is rated a three-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite, which also ranks him as the No. 39 offensive lineman in the country, and the No. 17 recruit in the state of Tennessee.
Adair picked up an offer from Virginia while attending a camp at UVA in June, but the Cavaliers weren't the only Power Five program to come calling. Over the last year and a half, Adair has earned offers from several Power Five schools, including Florida State, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Missouri, Cincinnati, Duke, Purdue, and Vanderbilt. Adair took an official visit to Virginia in late November and ultimately committed to the Cavaliers a few weeks later.
UVA offensive line coach Terry Heffernan has had a brilliant last 24 hours on the recruiting trail, as Adair's verbal commitment on Friday morning came on the heels of another recruiting win, with UCF graduate transfer offensive lineman Drake Metcalf pledging to Virginia late on Thursday night.
Adair is Virginia's third verbal commit from the 2025 recruiting class, joining four-star wide receiver Isaiah Robinson and four-star quarterback Cole Geer.
