Virginia senior wide receiver Malik Washington was named the ACC Receiver of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Washington had perhaps the best performance of his football career on Friday against NC State, hauling in 10 receptions for 170 yards and two touchdowns, which were all career highs.

Washington's second touchdown catch helped Virginia tie the game with just 36 seconds remaining, but the Cavaliers went on to lose 24-21 on a field goal as time expired.

In his entire career at Northwestern, Washington never once had a 100-yard receiving game. With his 170 yards against NC State, Washington became just the third Cavalier in program history to have three-consecutive games with at least 100 receiving yards. He also has a streak of 29-straight games with a catch and is currently the ACC's leader in receptions and receiving yards.

Washington is the second Cavalier to bring home an ACC weekly award this season, joining quarterback Anthony Colandrea, who was named the ACC Freshman of the Week after his week 2 performance against James Madison.
