Virginia wide receiver Malik Washington accepted an invite to participate in the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, which will be held from February 26th-March 4th in Indianapolis.

This annual event brings the best draft-eligible college football players to meet with executives, coaches, and scouts from each of the 32 NFL teams, a pivotal step in the process leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft. Last year, Virginia was represented with two players at the 2023 NFL Combine with wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks and defensive back Anthony Johnson both participating.

Washington certainly did more than enough to earn his spot at the Scouting Combine in his lone season at Virginia, as he rewrote the program's single-season receiving records with 110 catches and 1,426 receiving yards. He broke the ACC's single-season receptions record and led the country in that category in the regular season. Washington went over 100 receiving yards in 10 games this season, recording more 100-yard receiving games than any Cavalier receiver has had in an entire career.

Washington garnered some much-deserved postseason accolades, including First-Team All-ACC as well as Second-Team All-American honors by the Associated Press, Sports Illustrated, the Walter Camp Football Foundation, the Football Writers Association of America, Action Network, and Pro Football Focus, while College Football Network selected Washington as a First-Team All-American.

Having exhausted his collegiate eligibility, Washington turned his focus towards his future in the professional ranks, officially declaring for the NFL Draft on December 4th. Washington accepted an invite to the 2024 East-West Shrine Bowl, the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation. There, he'll get a chance to showcase his talents in front of NFL scouts and media on Thursday, February 1st at Ford Center at The Star, the indoor practice facility of the Dallas Cowboys. Then, a few weeks later at the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Washington will have another opportunity to raise his stock and convince an NFL organization to give him a chance at the next level.
