With the start of the 2023 Virginia football season just three weeks away, the Cavaliers held practice and a scrimmage at Scott Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Only the first 20 minutes of practice open to the media, but Virginia Sports TV gave fans a peak at some of the highlights of Saturday's scrimmage with a short video recap.

"It's an honor and a blessing to be on this grass, alright? It's nobody's right," Tony Elliott said to his team at the outset of the practice. "It's a privilege and with that privilege comes responsibility. We've got a responsibility to play to a standard when we touch this grass."

Highlights of the video include a pick-six from junior safety Jonas Sanker, sophomore running back Jack Griese breaking free for a 45-yard touchdown run, quarterbacks Tony Muskett and Anthony Colandrea showing off their playmaking abilities with both their arms and their legs, and touchdown receptions by Northwestern transfer Malik Washington and freshmen Suderian Harrison and Jaden Gibson.
