Virginia Lacrosse Earns No. 2 Seed, Will Host Richmond in NCAA 1st Round
Virginia has earned the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship and will host Richmond in the first round on Saturday, March 13th at noon at Klockner Stadium in Charlottesville.
The winner of Virginia-Richmond will face the winner of No. 7 seed Georgetown vs. Yale in the quarterfinals.
As expected, the Atlantic Coast Conference swept the top three overall seeds in the NCAA Tournament with Duke grabbing the No. 1 seed and Notre Dame slotting in at No. 3.

Virginia and Richmond faced off earlier this season on March 4th in Charlottesville, with the Cavaliers prevailing with a 25-8 victory. Xander Dickson had six goals to pace UVA in that matchup.
Virginia is seeking its eighth NCAA national championship and tenth national title overall (two pre-NCAA era championships in 1952 and 1970). This is UVA’s 42nd NCAA Tournament appearance and fifth-consecutive under Lars Tiffany.
Virginia finished the regular season 11-3 overall and 4-2 in ACC play.
