The New Orleans Pelicans are in the midst of a heated race to try to make the NBA Playoffs, as they currently find themselves tied for 7th in the Western Conference standings with eight games left in the regular season. The Pelicans have begun to surge at the right time, winning each of their last four games, the most recent of which was an impressive 131-110 blowout win on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers, fueled by yet another career night from former Virginia men's basketball star Trey Murphy III.

Red-hot right from the jump, Trey Murphy III made each of his first five three-point attempts, including four in the first quarter, and knocked down a career-high 10 three-pointers in the game on just 12 total attempts. For the game, Murphy was 11/14 from the floor with 32 points, two rebounds, two steals, one assist, one block, and zero turnovers. He was +19 in 37 minutes on the floor.

At 22 years old, Murphy became the second-youngest player in NBA history to make 10 three-pointers in a single game. Murphy and Brandon Ingram (32 points, 13 assists) combined to score 64 of the Pelicans' 131 points in the blowout victory. New Orleans made a franchise-record 21 threes in the game. This performance came just 13 days after Murphy scored a career-high 41 points to lead the Pelicans to a big win over the Trail Blazers.

In his second season at the professional level, Murphy has elevated his game in the most crucial stretch of the season, averaging 19.8 points per game over this four-game winning streak, and scoring in double figures in 11-consecutive games. Murphy is now averaging 13.8 points per game and is shooting 41.0% from beyond the arc this season.

Murphy and the Pelicans will look to continue their playoff push on Monday night on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers.
