Washington State Track Athlete Jasneet Nijjar Qualifies For Canadian Olympic Team
A member of the Washington State University Track and Field program will represent her home country in this summer's Paris Olympic Games.
Jasneet Nijjar qualified for Canada's 4x400 meter relay team this week. She finished fourth in the 400-meter race at Canadian Olympic trials earlier this week. She finished that race in 51.84, brekaing a 38-year-old program record at WSU.

While Nijjar previously competed in the Youth Olympic Games as a teenager, this marks her first trip to the big stage of the Summer Olympics.
A native of Surrey, British Columbia, Nijjar is currently a graduate student at Washington State. She will reportedly compete alongside fellow countrymen Aiyanna Stiverne, Kyra Constantine, Lauren Gale, Madeline Price and Zoe Sherar.
The 2024 Paris Olympics will commence on July 26. The first round of the women's 4x400 meter relay is scheduled for Friday, August 9.
