The newest Cougar has a fastball in the mid -90s with a sweeper. For Blatter, the next step is to control his pitches.
Prior to his time at USC, Blatter was with the Alabama Crimson Tide where in six games, he posted a 4.50 ERA, 13.5 K/9 and 9.0 BB/9 through eight innings pitched.
Blatter enters a pitching staff that was the third worst in the Pac-12 last season, posting a 6.16 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. With how much the Cougars pitching staff struggled in 2024, there is a chance that Blatter is entering a rather favorable situation.
Draft experts currently have Blatter as a day-two pick in the 2025 MLB Draft with the potential to see himself work up to the first round of the draft.
