LA Rams Keep Former Coug Brennan Jackson, Cut Cam Lampkin

Tuesday marked the deadline for NFL teams to set their 3-man rosters for the beginning of the regular season. In sunny Los Angeles, two former Washington State Cougars were fighting to make Sean McVay's Rams squad in their rookie campaign.

For outside linebacker Brennan Jackson, it was good news. The Rams' fifth round selection appeared in just one preseason game, and registered no stats, after dealing with a soft tissue injury during fall camp. He begins the year as one of five outside linebackers on the Rams' roster. Jackso had a standout final seasons at WSU, scoring three defensive touchdowns and accumulatign 8.5 sacks with 12.5 tackles for loss.

For undrafted defensive back Cam Lampkin, the news wasn't as good. Lampkin was among the roster cuts made by the Rams this week. Lampkin started al 12 games for the Cougars and led the team in pass breakups with eight. Lampkin spent three seasons at Utah State before transferring to WSU for the last two of his college career.
