Ahead of the 2024 season, The Athletic released a tier list of NFL quarterbacks for the 2024 season. Minshew joined the Raiders this offseason in free agency on a two-year deal after a stint as the starter for the Indianapolis Colts earned him a selection to his first Pro Bowl as an alternate.

In 2018 under Mike Leach, Minshew's only season in Pullman, he threw for 4,779 yards and 38 touchdowns. He led the Cougs to an 11-2 overall record (the best of any season in school history) and an Alamo Bowl win over Iowa State.

The Raiders open the regular season on September 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
