5 Washington State Cougars Named to East-West Shrine Bowl Watch List
Each year, the East-West Shrine Bowl provides college football players to practice and participate in an all-star game in front of NFL scouts and coaches. Prior to the season, the Shrine Bowl releases a list of 1000 draft eligible players who are good candidates for the game itself. That 2024 list was released this week, including five members of the Washington State Cougars.
Those five Cougars are listed below.

Kapena Gushiken - Safety
Kris Hutson - Wide Receiver
Kyle Williams - Wide Receiver
Fa'alili Fa'amoe - Tackle
Syrus Webster - Defensive End

Gushiken, a Maui native, was a standout last season as a junior in his first season after transferring from Saddleback College. He had 36 tackles, a sack, and interception, which he returned for a touchdown against UCLA.
In the passing game, Williams caught 61 passes for 842 yards with six touchdowns after transferring from UNLV. Hutson joins the Cougars after four seasons at Oregon, where he caught 80 passes for 9336 yards and two touchdowns in that span.
In the trenches, starting right tackle Fa'alili Fa’amoe is an exciting prospect at 6'5" and 305 pounds. On defense, Webster was a two-time all-conference selection last year as a junior at Utah Tech.
The East-West Shrine Bowl will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington,TX on January 30, 2025
