2024 is a brand new era for the Washington State Cougars with the conference formerly known as the Pac-12 reduced to two members. As a result, WSU will play a slew of opponents from the Mountain West, FCS, and more this season.

While Jake Dickert's squad had their shining moments in last season's 5-7 campaign, improvement is desired. 2023 was the only year besides the four-game 2020 campaign that saw WSU not reach a bowl game. Despite that, at least some college football betting experts are optimistic about WSU's road ahead.

On FanDuel, bettors can get odds at -115 for Washington State to go over 7.5 wins. Meanwhile, the same sportsbook places odds at -105 for Washington State to go under 7.5 wins.

The last time that Washington State actually achieved eight wins or more was in 2018 when they went 11-2 under Mike Leach.

The Cougars will open the 2024 season on August 31 when they host Portland State. That will kick off Jake Dickert's third season as the Cougars' head coach. He is still searching for his first bowl win with the Cougars.
